Bike And Roll: Day Bike Rental

Explore the Washington DC area on wheels, with your own itinerary and schedule. Take your bike to a Smithsonian museum, cycle along the Potomac River, or head to one of the area’s extensive bike trails. Rentals of comfort bikes, kids’ bikes, and trailer tandems are available daily.

• Inclusions: Bike rental includes comfort bike, helmet, handlebar bag, lock, city map

• Rental hours: Season runs March 10 through December 15, 2018

▪ Daily: 10am – 6pm (hours are extended June - Aug; please inquire when calling to confirm reservation or during pick-up)

• Location: Rental begins and ends at our National Mall location at L’Enfant Plaza:

By TAXI: Use address 475 L'Enfant Plaza SW
1. At this address, you will see a large building under construction. Face the new building, cross the street and take the sidewalk to the left.
2. Walk past the building lobby to the end of the sidewalk.

DRIVING and PARKING: Use address 970 D St SW
1. Once there, you will be under an overpass and should see signs for L’Enfant Plaza Parking.
2. Once parked, take the elevator to Plaza Level (PL), exit the building and walk to your right.
3. There is limited metered street parking one level up along L'Enfant Plaza. If parked on the street, navigate on foot to 470 L’Enfant Plaza SW.

By FOOT/BIKE: Use the address 470 L’Enfant Plaza SW
1. Navigate to intersection of Independence Ave and L’Enfant Plaza SW. You should see the Smithsonian Castle/Visitor Center. From there, cross Independence Avenue and take the sidewalk of L’Enfant Plaza for 1 1/2 blocks.
2. Make your first left just before the construction. Walk past the building lobby to the end of the sidewalk.

By METRO: to L'Enfant Plaza (Yellow, Green, Orange, Blue or Silver)
1. Exit train, follow signs to L'Enfant Plaza or 9th and D Streets.
2. Before exiting turnstiles, check for a large circular portrait of an astronaut in a spacesuit with arms at their side. The background is white. If you do not see this ask a Metro employee to point you to the exit for the L'Enfant Plaza Starbucks or food court.
3. Exit the turnstiles and take escalator up one level. At the top turn right. You should see Starbucks.
4. Exit glass doors to the right of Starbucks. You should see a mural on your right. Walk to the end of the mural and walk UP stairs. Turn right and walk towards the first building.
5. If you find yourself inside the food court find Jamba Juice, Panda Express or California Tortilla, take the stairs next to Jamba Juice up to the plaza level.

Rental may be rescheduled if the weather makes for dangerous riding conditions. If we are unable to reschedule the rental, we will issue a full credit or refund. Photo ID and credit card required at time of rental; credit card will not be charged unless equipment is not returned.
